Omuraisu, A Taste of Kyoto Japan and a bit of the Western Cuisine
Omurice (Omu-raisu)
'Omu' is derived from the the French word "Homme" or male in English. 'Raisu' (ライス) a yōshoku or a Western-influenced Japanese cuisine consisting of eggs and rice.
A few years back, I saw a video of Chef Yukimura Motokichi's Omurice. A Japanese Master Chef from a back alley in Kyoto, creating a magnificent egg dish. I was hooked. I needed to create the Master Chef's miracle egg recipe. The question is how?
Due to lack of financial resources to go to Japan, I opted to research by watching all YouTube videos and read blogs about Chef Yukimura Motokichi's mouthwatering gift to humanity. I might even post a How-To video once I get it right.
Here's a clip posted by Umi Syam on March 15, 2013 of the master in action.
